Government polytechnic balod was esteblished in year 2017 with intake of 180 students in the three diploma engineering disiplines of Civil, Electrical, Mining & Mine Surveying in the campus of mentor institute B.R.P Govt. Polytechnic Dhamtari.

later on the institute got it's permanent premises at village - Dudhali in district - Balod and shifted on 1st July 2022. The institute have sufficient space at it's permanent permises. The institute is at approx 10 Km away from Balod city and located at Balod- Lohara Road .
